We offer a diverse and rich specialist program including Gardening, Cooking, PE, Visual Arts, Music and Library. This also includes opportunities to participate in sports and events within the local community.
Intergenerational visits

Our intergenerational visits began with a student idea. At a local council event, students had the opportunity to pitch ideas, and one group proposed connecting with older members of the community.
In partnership with the council, this has become a regular part of school life. Residents from a local aged care facility visit the school a few times each term to spend time with students—sharing stories, knowledge and experience over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Camps and Excursions

At Taradale Primary School, camps and excursions are an important part of learning. We provide a range of opportunities for students to get out of the classroom, try new things and connect their learning to the real world.
Students regularly take part in excursions, from catching the train into the city to visit places like the Melbourne Museum, Queen Victoria Market and National Gallery of Victoria, to travelling by bus to a range of engaging venues and local experiences.
We also offer a strong camps program, with students having the chance to attend camps such as Anglesea Camp, Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement, Lady Northcote Recreation Camp and Urban Camp Melbourne. These experiences may include activities such as horse riding, adventure challenges, surf programs and team-based activities.
We also work closely with local schools to provide opportunities for interschool sport and shared experiences, helping students build confidence, friendships and a strong sense of connection beyond our school.
