Established in 1855, Taradale Primary School is a small, connected school of around 75 students. Set in peaceful rural surrounds, our large grounds give students space to learn, play and explore.
Our composite classes support strong relationships across year levels, and every student is known and valued. We are a welcoming community school, where families are part of school life and contribute in ways that work for them.
Wellbeing sits at the centre of what we do. We focus on strong relationships and a calm, inclusive environment where students feel safe, supported and able to be themselves. Our approach to learning builds strong foundations in literacy and mathematics through structured, explicit teaching, alongside knowledge-rich and hands-on experiences.
Our values — respect, diversity and trust — guide how we work together each day and shape the way students learn, play and connect with others.
________
What makes Taradale Primary School a little different is how students are valued and get to experience school each day.
Students have three outdoor play breaks, with time to climb trees, build cubbies, get muddy and use the space in their own way. Play is valued as part of how students connect, reset and engage in learning.
Our Kitchen Garden and sustainability work are part of everyday learning, with students growing, cooking and caring for the environment.

Hands-on learning is a regular part of school life. Students work with real tools and materials and learn through doing.
Uniform is welcome, but not compulsory. We prioritise practical clothing that suits a full day of learning and outdoor play, and support students to feel comfortable and be themselves.
