CILS ACADEMIC FAIR: The STEAM and ICT Club
SUMMER CAMP 2024
Theme: “Delving into the Realms of STEAM and ICT in Embarking an Immersive Experiences Filled with Innovation, Creativity, and Digital Wonders”
Objective:
This aims to promote interest and appreciation of Math, Science, Arts, and ICT among students and encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Also, this provides an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge and skills in these subject areas.
PRE-ELEMENTARY CATEGORY
Target Participants:
Grades 1-3 pupils
Rules and Mechanics:
All pupils from grade 1-3 are encouraged to participate. Each team must be made up of 3 pupils from each grade level.
A team leader must be designated among the three.
The quiz bee consists of several rounds, each with a different format (e.g. multiple choice, short answer, problem-solving, and true or false).
The contestants should wear their complete school uniform and I.D.
Contestants are not allowed to bring cellular phones during the contest proper. All personal belongings will be secured in one area.
Materials such as illustration board, chalk, and eraser will be provided by the committee in-charge.
The coverage of the quiz bee includes various subjects such as mathematics, science, and arts.
Thirty questions are prepared every round, but only ten (Easy and Average) or five (Difficult and Clencher) questions will be asked. The number of the question will be picked in a quiz bowl by the quiz master. The questions to be ask for each component are as follows:

Each question will be read twice by the Quiz Master and flashed on the screen. The quiz master will signal “GO” to answer the questions at a specified given time. The bell will ring after the allotted seconds, after which, the Team Leader will raise their illustration boards. The illustration boards will be raised until instructed to be lowered.
Their answers should be written on the black part of the illustration board.
Wrong spelling and illegible answers are considered wrong. Final answers must be written legibly.
Each correct answer will be awarded a certain number of points.
If there is a tie, clincher questions will be asked. The first contestant who will gain points over the other will get the points or score.
At the end of the Difficult Round, scores from the previous two rounds will be added to the scores of the said Round. The contestant with the highest score will be declared the champion and the winner. The second and the third highest score earners will be declare 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up, respectively.
Any violation of the rules and regulations will result in the forfeiture of titles, prizes, and privileges awarded to the contestant concerned.
The competition will have three (3) components: Easy Round, Average Round, and Difficult Round
