CILS ACADEMIC FAIR: The STEAM and ICT Club
SUMMER CAMP 2024
Theme: “Delving into the Realms of STEAM and ICT in Embarking an Immersive Experiences Filled with Innovation, Creativity, and Digital Wonders”
Fashion Show
Objective:
The CILS Summer Camp Fashion Show 2024 is an event that aims to develop pupils’ creativity, resourcefulness, and self-confidence. In addition, this will teach the young minds the importance of the 5 Rs in waste management, realizing that your trash today could be your outfit tomorrow.
Target Participants:
Grade 1-6 pupils are encouraged to join
There is no limit as to how many participants per grade level
Rules and Regulations
Pupils joining the event should showcase an attire made of only recyclable materials.
2. They may choose to create one attire from the three categories listed below.
▪ Flora and Fauna Fashion Attire – the design of the outfit should be inspired by a certain flower (female) or an animal (male). Through this, pupils will appreciate the beauty and importance of taking care of the diverse species of plants and animals.
▪ Geometric Fashion Attire – this fashion line is all about geometry, where shapes, angles, and lines are highlighted and incorporated in clothes. This category aims to make pupils realize the essence of mathematics in our everyday lives, even in what you wear.
▪ Formal Wear in Gowns and Suits – this will allow the pupils to make a classic, elegant, and head turning gown (female) and suits (males) which will bring out the confidence and creativity of the pupils.
3. The complete name of the pupil, grade level, chosen fashion category, materials used, and outfit inspiration should be submitted to the adviser of the pupils and will be forwarded to the persons in charge of the event on or before February 12, 2024.
4. Take note that this is not a contest. Participants will receive certificates after the event.
Pageant
Objective:
The Mr. and Ms. CILS Summer Camp 2024 is an event that serves as an avenue to encourage excellence amongst students, allowing them to showcase their artistic talents while incorporating their practical and creative abilities. The aforementioned activity provides an opportunity for students to design, construct, and model their own fashion garments. This can be considered as a unique opportunity for them to develop their talent, self-esteem, leadership skills, and most importantly self-confidence.
Target Participants:
▪ Grade 7-12 students
▪ One pair of contestants (male and female) and one designer only for each grade level.
Rules and Regulations (Fashion Designers)
1. They must submit the portfolio of their design output to the designated personnels on or before February 12, 2024. Refer on the format of the portfolio below:
▪ Use a long white folder and a long coupon bond.
▪ Cover page titled “Design Output Portfolio” indicated below are “Submitted by: Name of the Fashion Designer” under it is his/her grade level and “Submitted to: Ms. Catheryn R. Cahilig and Mr. Nikko G. Igcasenza” with the designation, Teachers-In charge.
▪ The next three pages are the sketches of the three fashion categories. Below each of these is the list of the recycled materials used and the outfit inspiration of the chosen design.
2. It is strictly mandated that they should use recyclable materials only in creating the attire.
3. The design outputs must be the participant’s own work. Borrowing photos or sketches from the internet is strictly prohibited.
4. The designers are allowed to change the color, materials used, etc. but not the overall design of the attire.
5. The three fashion categories include:

6. The portfolio will be given back to the designers once checked by the designated personnels.
Rules and Regulations (Contestants)
1. The names of the contestants per grade level should be submitted to the grade level representatives of
the STEAM and ICT club on or before February 12, 2024.
2. He/she must not be a member of the STEAM or ICT club or a former contestant of any pageants
spearheaded by the school.

Originality and Resourcefulness - 30%
Creativity - 30%
Relevance/Concept of Design - 20%
Overall Impact/Impression - 20%
