San Pedro Columbia Village (~35 minute drive from Punta Gorda)
San Pedro Columbia is located in Toledo District, Belize. With 2000 inhabitants, it’s the 2nd largest village of the district. Most of the villagers are farmers. The village is well known for its cacao production, a sacred Mayan product. Lubaantun is located close to the village and is the largest Mayan ruins of southern Belize.
San Pedro Columbia RC School has 2 tables with benches available in the school compound for the students to sit, study or chat. However, those furnitures are located in full sun the entire day or are exposed to the tropical rain. That’s why the students cannot enjoy it most of the time, either because it’s far too warm or because they are wet.
We need gazebos for those tables and benches.
We would need your financial support to purchase materials to build those structures, that is to say wood, paint, zinc… You are also welcomed to come and help build those structures that will be located in the very heart of the school compound. You will have the help of the school committee the entire time.
With the help of volunteers, this project can be accomplished in 2 or 3 days.
