Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
I could make a comment about the weather and how it's the right season to be reading, but really isn't it always the right season to be reading?? I absolutely love fishing this time of year. There's nothing quite like having a hook in the water and a book (or kindle) in your hand. My husband got me a kindle and I've been trying it out but it's not as good as an actual book that's for sure!
Did you know that our library has thousands of books on hand and several playaways? Playaways are pre-loaded audiobook devices for kids, young adults, and adults. They give you the freedom to take audiobooks everywhere. Anyone with a library card can check them out. This is a great option for anyone that is short on time to read. We really have such an amazing library to see and fulfill that need!
It's never too late to become a member! Only $10! :)
Can you believe how fast the year is flying by??? Join us at our next meeting on May 12, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. as we begin discussing the salad luncheon! It'll be here before you know it! I'm so excited! It's one of my favorite days all year! Can't wait to see you all there!

GOVERNORS EARLY LITERACY FOUNDATION - http://www.governorsfoundation.org
Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 520 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,310 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead
We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
