Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
It’s 2025! And it’s SNOWING!! While many may be outside playing in the snow, I’m staying warm with a Hot Cocoa Special and a good book! (My kids love it when I make a Hot Cocoa Special! It’s my own secret hot cocoa recipe.) One of my favorite books of all time is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I find myself going back to this book every few years because I just love the story! For the first time, I’m reading Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility and so far we’re off to a good start! It’s turning out to be one of the best snow days ever! Praying you are all safe, warm, and enjoying this beautiful snow day!
As per our November meeting, I am including a copy of the proposed Expense Voucher/Receipt. Please look this over. We will be voting on it in January.
Our group is blessed to only meet 6 times a year. Blessed because it shouldn’t add any stress to our own personal schedules. However, it can cause us to have items drawn out for long periods of time. We have been trying to update our By-Laws for a year now and it could continue on for an undetermined amount of time if we let it. The Executive Committee met to prepare the agenda for the upcoming meeting and made the changes as discussed in the November meeting regarding Article IV. Changes suggested by members to the Executive Committee regarding Articles II and X were also taken into consideration. The Executive Committee agreed it was in the best interest of our group to make the suggested changes. These changes are highlighted in orange for easy visibility. As per our current By-Laws, this newsletter fulfills the “advance notice of such proposed amendments” under Article X. Therefore, we will be voting on all proposed changes at our next meeting and, essentially, laying this matter to rest. I will include the updated copy of the proposed changes to our By-Laws with the disbursement of this newsletter.
Lastly, our next meeting will be January 13, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Invite someone new. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there!

Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 522 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,080 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, it is the only thing that ever has."

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
