Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
Our SALAD LUNCHEON is a week away!! We are asking members to bring 1 or 2 salads. Please prayerfully consider volunteering either in the evening at 6pm on Thursday, September 19th, for setup, the morning of Friday, September 20th or both. Mrs. Joanna will be at Fort Donelson United Methodist Church at 7:45 a.m.on Friday to receive salads from anyone that can’t stay.
Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation is turning 20 this October. They have the cutest little owl as a mascot named Booker. As a partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination library, Stewart County Public Library, and our Friends group, we will be celebrating Booker’s Birthday at our SALAD LUNCHEON. The Governor's Early Literacy Foundation gave the library a grant to get the BOOK BUS started. Join us in celebrating their 20th birthday!
As per our September meeting minutes I am including a copy of the proposed revised By-Laws with this newsletter. These will be voted on at the November meeting.
Our nominations committee has been assembled. Kathy Mauldin, Janey Marshall and Mary Ann Jordan have accepted the challenge. If you have any opinions on nominations or would like to be considered, please reach out to the nominating committee.
Lastly, our next meeting will be November 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Invite someone new. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Ashley Hayes
P.S. I can’t wait to see you all at the SALAD LUNCHEON!! Looking forward to great food, fun and fellowship!!

Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 51 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,223 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.
Stewart County Friends of the Public Library
is a partner agency of the UWGN.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead
We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
