Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
As we move into another exciting month at the library, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who continue to support the Friends through your time, energy, and generosity. Our programs, book sales, and community initiatives are thriving because of your involvement.
This month, I’d like to offer a very special acknowledgment. After many years of dedicated service, our longtime secretary, Kathy Veazey, is stepping down from her role. We are deeply grateful for her steady leadership, meticulous recordkeeping, and the warmth and enthusiasm she has brought to every meeting and project. Her commitment has helped shape the Friends into the strong, welcoming organization it is today.
Although she is leaving the secretary position, we’re delighted that she will remain an active member of the Friends—and we look forward to benefiting from her wisdom for years to come. Please join me in thanking Kathy Veazey for her outstanding service and in wishing her well as she embraces a new chapter within our group.
Our next Friends meeting will be held on January 12, 2026 at 5:00 PM. We hope you’ll join us as we begin working closely with our new secretary and vice president to support another great year for our library.
With appreciation,
Ashley Hayes

GOVERNORS EARLY LITERACY FOUNDATION - http://www.governorsfoundation.org
Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 547 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,375 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
