Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
Praying you all are enjoying this beautiful summer and enjoying time with your families! I won't take up too much of our summertime so I will make this short and sweet this month!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR SEVERAL EVENTS!!
We need volunteers to work alongside Mrs. Gracie (who has graciously volunteered as a Friend of the Library) at the Fishing Rodeo at Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday June 14 from 6:30 - 10:00 a.m. You would be greeting, handing out boxes/cups of worms, handing out freebies, and then doing a raffle at about 9:15 before picking up and leaving. This would also be an opportunity to sign some kiddos up for Imagination Library.
We need volunteers for the Community Baby Shower is June 14 from 10:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the Visitor's Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to sign some kiddos up for Imagination Library.
We need volunteers for the Library's big SUMMER FINALE on July 18 at 11:00 a.m. The community loves this event as it closes out the summer for them. Please plan on arriving 30-45 minutes early to help with setup.
Also, if you are interested in meeting up with the Book Bus in Cumberland City at the tennis courts from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. and in Indian Mound at the Indian Mound Community Church from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. on June 28th and July 19th.
Please reach out if you can volunteer for any of these events!
Our Salad Luncheon will look a little different this year. It will be on August 22 at the Visitor's Center. Please plan to attend the July 14th meeting as we plan this event. It's also our annual Friends' Cookout! Please bring a side dish and your own beverage of choice.
Looking forward to hearing from you all soon! Have a great summer!!
Ashley Hayes

GOVERNORS EARLY LITERACY FOUNDATION - http://www.governorsfoundation.org
Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 520 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,310 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
