Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
It’s hard to believe that 2025 is just right around the corner!
Many of us struggle to find time for ourselves and time to read this time of year. We’re suddenly busy with Christmas shopping and joyful gatherings. I love reading Christmas books with my children, especially Jesus’ story. As it’s been said before, children are our future. They are indeed the future of our group as well. In the age of technology, simply giving a child a book is not enough. They need to see your love of reading and the joy it gives you to pick up a good book. It can be quite an adventure to hunt for the right book.
I pray you all have had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed time with your families. “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
As per our November meeting, I am including a copy of the proposed Expense Voucher/Receipt. Please look this over. We will be voting on it in January.
Lastly, our next meeting will be January 13, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Invite someone new. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Ashley Hayes

GOVERNORS EARLY LITERACY FOUNDATION - http://www.governorsfoundation.org
Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 529 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,262 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, it is the only thing that ever has."

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
