Letter from the President:
Hello Friends!
Hoping you all are enjoying the beautiful snow outside!
As happy as I am for our dear library director, Mrs. Gracie, it saddens me to share that she has turned in her resignation letter. Her last day will be March 15, 2025. She has been such an asset to our library and will be missed dearly as she starts the next chapter of her life. Please congratulate her on her new position in Montgomery County should you see her.
Our elementary schools are celebrating Read Across America Week on separate weeks this year. Both schools are looking for volunteers to read to their students for Read To Me Day. Please contact the schools if you are interested. Message me privately and I can schedule you for Dover Elementary.

North Stewart Elementary March 7th 931-232-5505
Read Across America Week is a great opportunity to show kids your love of reading. With technology being such a big part of a child’s life these days, it’s hard to get kids’ interest in books stirred up. We should take every available opportunity to do so. It is good to remember that not every child grows up the same. So, I urge you to take a few minutes to read a book to a class or two at each school. You could be the one to peak a child’s interest in reading.
3rd graders will be taking a field trip to our library on Tuesday March 4th. If you are interested in volunteering please message me privately and be at the library at 8:00am.
Lastly, our next meeting will be March 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Invite someone new. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there!

Your help is needed in locating all Stewart County children from birth to age 5 to introduce them to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, STILL LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN!! 20% of the children in this age group are still not signed up!
Once a child is signed up, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in the child's name directly to their home. The registered children can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. There are currently 522 Stewart County children registered and receiving books but there are many more yet to locate and register. 2,080 have graduated from the program in Stewart County. Parents may also register their children online at http://www.governorsfoundation.org. If the child moves, it is vital that parents have the child's address changed in order to continue receiving the books.
Would you like to help this wonderful program? As little as $12 will pay for books for one child, for an entire year! Donations can be made out to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, noting “Imagination Library” in the memo line, and mailed or delivered to the Stewart County Public Library, 102 Natcor Drive, Dover TN 37058. Stewart County Friends of the Public Library is a 501(c))(3) charitable organization and a partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Donations are tax- deductible.

We, as a group, make a positive change in the lives of Stewart County children every time we sign-up another child for Imagination Library, pass on information regarding I.L. to someone else, or otherwise contribute to this positive program.
