The Best Years of Our Lives, My Ass by ireallyhatecornnuts (CharleyFoxtrot) (PDF FAQ) ~ Dean goes to sleep in a motel room in Texarkana, and he wakes up 17 years old, in his childhood bedroom in Lawrence, Kansas, 1996.
Hautley's Bend by ColdIntheStudio (PDF)~ this could also go under Heartbreaking. Castiel Novak is used to change. He's used to being the new kid in school. So when he moves with his family to the small town of Rail Pass, he doesn't expect things to be much different than the last three towns. But then he meets Dean Winchester, an aggressive fellow student who sees Castiel as the shiny new toy he and his friends get to mess with.
MadAtYourDad by wannaliveindeansdimples (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) ~ Dean wasn’t sure why he was even scrolling through Craigslist. Alone on Thanksgiving? Mad at your dad?
Teenagers Scare the Living Shit Out of Me by sydkn3e (WIP [she's writing it again!]) (PDF) ~ Dean is 18 years old, a senior in high school, captain of the football team, and popular with all the girls at his school. Cas is a fellow senior who is a bit rougher around the edges. He sports multiple piercings and tattoos, owns an all black wardrobe, smokes menthol cigarettes, and has somewhat of a reputation for being uncontrollable and oversexed...
A New Day At Midnight by hungrydean (PDF) ~ Very Sweet. Very well written. Castiel has one problem: Dean Winchester. The punk with tattoos, eyeliner, and band shirts. Castiel can’t stand Dean, and the fact that everyone else seems to love him makes it even worse.
We're the Cliche (PDF) by endversed ~ no longer on A03 - There’s a new kid at school who won’t stop staring at Castiel. Like, really won’t stop: spends all of his time drilling a hole into Castiel’s temple with his eyes (shut up, Castiel has no idea what colour they are) and smirking. Dean Winchester is new to the senior year, and he's kind of your stereotypical bad boy. Castiel Novak does not want to sleep with him. He doesn't.
Sweaters & Cigarettes (PDF) by lemonoclefox - no longer on A03. This should be rated Explicit. This is the type of love story that always breaks my heart because we should all be able to have this but none of us do. Dean Winchester is in high school, crushing hard on Castiel Novak, the unbelievably hot goth who Dean does his very best to convince himself he hates, despite the fact that he can’t really stop staring at him. Dean tries, but when the two of them finally cross paths, their first conversation takes a surprising turn. And suddenly, they both find themselves falling harder and faster than they ever could have expected.
The Dean Winchester Beat Sheet by saltyfeathers (PDF) ~ Collage AU - There's no real synopsis for this so here is my comment that I left: Someone on Facebook described this as Dean so far in the closest he could see Narnia. I thought that was so on brand it inspired me to come read it. I was impressed with the mystery you road out for many chapters. I love your writing style, very smooth and you didn't rely on over used turns of phrase so thank you for that sincerely. I really loved that Dean's story was the subplot. I thought that was brilliant and I loved that Cas was so enthralled by Dean that not only was he sabotaging his one mission to be with him but he was also willing to entertain Dean's neurosis about being discovered as a gay man the he would play along with Dean's own subterfuge and helping him make up stories. He was never once resentful about. I think... Hard to tell with no Cas POV but no worries it was really good. (read 9/2019)(read again 10/2021)
Detention by Anonymous (PDF) “You got some pretty panties there, Winchester,” Cas says, and reaches down to put two fingers into the waistband of Dean’s jeans, underneath the lacy elastic. *** Wherein Castiel Krushnic learns Dean Winchester's biggest secret and exploits it for all it's worth. My Comment: Well it was touch and go there for a bit but what a beautiful story. Thank you. (read 2/2018)
Hush by braceyourself (PDF) Summery: He'd heard all he needed to know about Dr. Novak, really. Straight-laced academic, prioritizes punctuality, favours the smartest students; it doesn't bode well for Dean. My Comment: [First I'll warn you there is an actual rape in here. It's not one of those quasi non-con that starts out as a "no" and magically morphs into a "yes". Dean really gets raped and it's intense. ] I honestly don't know why this doesn't have more comments. It's a fantastic story. It does beg for a sequel or maybe an epilogue. But it has been so long that it has probably fallen off your radar. I still would encourage you guys to revisit this. If you put an epilogue on here it would pop back up to the top of the ao3 list. Just say'n you'd get another round of readers. Anyway, you two hit it out of the park with this. Bravo! (read 2017 and again 10/2021)
Flower by BlackDog9314 (PDF) - Summery: Cas Krushnic is the new kid in school from California with a terrible attitude and more than just physical scars. Dean Winchester is the green-eyed quarterback who sits in front of him in precalculus every other day. Cas knows what he wants, and has no qualms about taking it. Dean has no idea what's gotten into him lately. My Comment: Well, I could have used more epilogue but honestly this was an amazing story and real incredibly well written. I'm a little surprised we didn't get closure with John but it's nice that we didn't have to deal with horrible homophobia from him. ETA: that comment up there is just me being greedy, sorry. Honestly, this was amazingly melancholy, and so so good and well written. I amazed I've never read this before. You are an spectacular writer. (read 12/2021)
