Cinderwings by bendingsignpost (PDF) (Mature) ~ Never ever did I think I would read a destiel story that had NO SMUT and LOVE IT!!! But here it is. This is one of the most gorgeous stories I've read and there's no sex at all. It's rated Mature and I'm not entirely sure why. It could be a teen rating for all that they refer to fucking twice in the second to last chapter. There is kissing and it's nicely described. So if it were a movie I'd rate it PG-13. Under the cover of a masquerade ball, Castiel has five nights to recover the key to his people's freedom. The world has changed greatly in the six centuries since their banishment into the void, but the task isn't impossible. Unfortunately for Castiel, this is going to involve talking to people - especially the Knight Prince who has taken an interest in Castiel and his "costume" wings. (Destiel Cinderella AU)

Not Part of the Plan by Annie D (scaramouche) (8 works: 337,847 words) ~ Castiel's spent most of his adult life keeping his head down and staying out of trouble. This is a deliberate choice on his part, because as a cousin of the King, he'd rather stay unimportant and forgotten. This changes abruptly when King Michael decides that he has a better use for Castiel: he is to be wed to a noble member of the neighboring Republic, as part of an agreement between their two nations.

Castiel knows he has to obey, but that doesn't mean he won't rebel in what small ways he can. Unexpectedly, his actions end up having far-reaching consequences.

Down to Agincourt by seperis ~ (currently 1,077,010 words) This is an Endverse AU story - ok I'm not really recommending this story to any one who's here for the smut. There really is not much smut in this at all like practically none. I don't even know why she bothered to put any in there. The story is not about sex in any way shape or form. It's basically an exercise in existentialism. She also said at one point that she was trying to see how many words she could fit into her story so that should tell you something right there. She even goes so far as to write a story about ancient Greece within her story. So honestly if you don't love to read don't read this. I will say that it's pretty well written even though she does use too many words. Not only too many words but too many scenes. And I'm putting this here so that you will know what my experience was with this story. Just so you know she said she will have 8 stories total when she is done, but she has not posted anything on it for over a year. I did PM her on her tumbler and she did say she was currently editing this so just an FYI on that. Also, the characterizations I feel like are spot on so there are some nice aspects. (A bitter reader is bitter)

Map of the World (Mature) (PDF) (complete) ~ Past Dean gets sent back to The End, again. This is what happens. I have no idea why this was rate M, it's probably more like a Teen rating. Story summary: "The world's already over and they're already dead. All they're doing now is marking time until the end."
It's the Stars That Lie (Mature) (PDF) (complete) ~ Past Dean get outed to the camp (because he was hiding all through out the first story) and pretends to be Endverse Dean (who is dead - sorry). He moves into Cas' cabin. They are just roommates. They pretend that they are "together". Again why is this rated M? I have no idea. Sexually nothing happens. Story summary: "We fight, we lose, everyone dies anyway, I know. However, I don’t see why, if we're going to fight anyway, we shouldn't believe we're going to win."
A Thousand Lights in Space (Mature) (PDF) (complete) ~ Near the end Dean gets "felt up" by Cas. That's it. That's the sum total of their 'sexual' relationship. Dean is still recovering from an attack and Cas and he get closer in their pretend relationship. Story summary: "You're not a drop of infinity, none of you are; you are its creators."
The Game of God (Explicit) (PDF) (WIP last updated 4/25/2017) ~ ok so there is a teeny tiny amount of sex. There is one (maybe two) frontage scene(s) and one scene with finger penetration. That's it. It barely rates an E. Like I said I honestly don't know why she even bothered. And I can't be the only disappointed reader. But she does have some devoted followers so there's no way I'm going to leave a comment complaining about what to me is false advertising. All of her chapters are super long which in itself is not a bad thing but 3 (maybe 4) chapters are not even about the story. They are an entirely different story about a family in ancient Greece. Which WHY?!?! They are practically pointless. The same information could have been imparted in a few paragraphs. So really don't actually recommend this story but she can write and there are lots of people who love it. But don't come here expecting any sex, I mean I don't even think this qualifies as a slow burn as there's barely a smolder after fucking 1 million words. I mean what the fuck? For the investment in time (to me) it's simply not worth it. Story summary: "You can't win a war for humanity by sacrificing all of your own. "
