Reach out to vulnerable groups

There are many vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in cities who make up disproportionate numbers of those who leave education/training early. Engage with communities and employ mediation techniques if needed to connect more deeply. Work to address the culture gap between home and school, acknowledge that expectations and aspirations are often not the same in these groups, so support and provide information in suitable ways that are accessible. Consider local customs and pressures, including challenges around language and family pressures. Non-conventional solutions often offer some of the best results.
