Committee on Indigenous People


The committee on Indigenous people shall have general supervision over the following:

 

1.   Promotion of all the rights and privileges of the indigenous people/communities including, the rights to develop, control and use of land and territories traditionally owned or used by them; to manage and conserve natural resources responsibilities for future generations; to benefit from and share the profits from allocation and utilization of natural resources found therein; the right to negotiate the terms and conditions for exploration of the natural resources in the area;

 

2.  Promotion of the right to participate in the formulation and implementation of any project government or private affecting the ancestral domains, the right to stay in the territory and to avail of government projects that will improve their economic and social conditions.
