26 September 2022 - Chapter 81 added

Things are going to switch up a little for the next several chapters of the story! Today brings Chapter 81 and we get to see one of many letters Tails sent to his family in the Nameless Zone... with just a few of the details altered! These secret letters will alternate with Sonic's next great adventure, starting next week in Chapter 82! In addition, the chapter titles up to Chapter 96 have been revealed on the Act Two page!

19 September 2022 - Chapter 80 added

The adaptation of the 16-bit Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game draws to a close today with Chapter 80 providing an epilogue to that part of the story. Don't worry, though, it won't be long before we're right back in with the next game! Though the next few chapters are going to be something a little bit different...

30 May 2022 - Chapter 64 added

Today brings Chapter 64, the second "epilogue" to the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog 2 adaptation as Doctor Robotnik, realising his designs may need something more, enlists some new help with his Badniks. Additionally, a new character makes their debut today and they've been added to the Secondary Characters page accordingly.

7 February 2022 - 2022 Roadmap, Guide to the Multiverse added

Hi, everyone! It's a bit of a different update this week as it's more to give you all a clue of what to expect for the rest of the year. Sonic Amalgam Act Two will debut on this site in two weeks' time. In the meantime, here's a look to the future:

• Act Two will cover the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) and SegaSonic the Hedgehog video games.

• Act Two will have a strong Sonic the Comic influence as early issues of that publication feature the 16-bit Sonic 2 Zones frequently, hence elements of those stories will appear in Sonic Amalgam.

• Act Two will also feature adaptations of the Sonic Gamebooks and the Sonic novels by Virgin. Because these are already prose stories- and because the latter are, of course, already novels- rather than cover them in great detail, these will be shortened adaptations that introduce the characters and concepts but not beat-by-beat retreads- hopefully you'll be intrigued enough to track down the originals!

• Characters that will be heavily featured in Act Two (aside from Sonic and Robotnik, obviously) include the Freedom Fighters (as seen in various American Sonic productions and in Sonic the Comic), Tails (who will join the primary cast), and another primary cast member I'm keeping secret for now. Tails and this other new primary cast member will bookend Act Two with their respective origin tales in the Prologue and Bonus Story.

• Act Two, as with Act One, is set to run to fifty chapters, plus Prologue, Epilogue, Coda and Bonus Story. These will be updated, as ever, in weekly instalments every Monday.

There are a few surprises and lots of exciting character debuts to look forward to. This is going to be the point at which the Sonic games and the two major Sonic comics (Archie Comics' adaptation and Sonic the Comic) really start to overlap so characters are going to interact with one another in ways not seen in the source material.

Additionally, expect the character profiles to be updated (and possibly streamlined as the pages continue to grow) plus a guide to the many Zones of Mobius in addition to a guide to the multiverse where we look at the various worlds of Sonic. As a matter of fact, the first entry in that multiversal guide is live today with a look at the true "prime" universe, the Sonic the Hedgehog video games!

I'm delighted to share Sonic Amalgam with you all and look to the future with great anticipation of you all enjoying what 2022 and beyond has to offer!

January 2022

31 January 2022 - Badnik profiles added

24 January 2022 - Act One Bonus Story added; Act One complete!

Today, Act One of Sonic Amalgam is officially complete with the addition of the bonus story. Speaking personally, I'm thrilled I was able to get this far into this project and share it with you all. Over a hundred thousand words went into Act One of Sonic Amalgam, and we've only covered the very earliest Sonic adventures! Thank you to everyone who's read the story so far. Before too long, Act Two will begin and we get to do it all again!

17 January 2022 - Act One epilogue and coda added

As Act One draws to a close for Sonic, the epilogue and coda see us shift focus to some characters who'll prove to be of importance in his future- by first taking a look into the past...

10 January 2022 - Chapter 50 added

In today's new chapter, Sonic crash lands in a strange Zone- and makes a rescue of someone who'll prove to be important to his life.

With that, all 50 chapters of Sonic Amalgam Act One are now online! But don't think the story's over just yet, readers, as there's still the Epilogue, Coda and Bonus Story to come in the next couple of weeks!
