Answer 2: A map is a drawing of the Earth or a part of it. A map can be big or small.
A map is more useful than a globe because
Big globes are difficult to carry.
It is not possible to see all the places on a small globe.

Answer 3: Continents are large areas of land.

Question 4: What is the difference between horizon and coast?
Answer 4: The place where the sky and the land or the sea appear to meet is called the horizon.
The place where the land and the sea meet is called the coast.

Question : Imagine you are lost at sea. You have to sail westwards. You have a compass. Will you be able to sail in the right direction? How?
Answer : Yes, I will be able to sail in the right direction. I have a compass and the compass needle always points the North. Once I know where North is, I can know the rest of the directions and sail in the right direction.

Answer: Three of the four parts of the Earth’s surface are covered with water and only one part is covered with land. As a result, the Earth looks blue from space. Hence, it is also known as the Blue planet.
