Answer 1: Any work done to earn money is called an occupation. Farmers, carpenters, vegetable sellers, tailors, singers, teachers, doctors and engineers.

Question 2: What does a farmer need to grow crops?

Answer 2: A farmer needs a piece of land, water and fertile soil to grow crops.

Question 3: What is the difference between dairy farmers and poultry farmers?

Answer 3: The dairy farmers keep animal such as cows and buffaloes for milk. They sell this milk in the market. The poultry farmers keep chickens and ducks on farms. They sell eggs and meat.

Question 4: Write five things we get from forests.

Answer 4: We get wood, Herbs, rubber, lac, honey and gum from forests.

Question 5: What is mining? Write the names of any four minerals.

Answer 5: The digging up of minerals from inside the earth is called mining. Iron, coal, mica, manganese and petroleum are some minerals.
