MARCH 17TH – APRIL 3rd, 2020

NATION-WIDE VIRTUAL ASPIRING EDUCATOR CONFERENCE

Workshops are facilitated by SFEA State Leaders and members of the Student National Education Association at UCF.

------

WHAT: Online workshops catered specifically to aspiring educators; hosted by Student Florida Education Association state leaders with guest speakers in the education field

WHERE: ZOOM

WHEN: 1-hour professional development sessions during various times and dates starting March 17 and ending in April.

WHY: Due to the threat of CORONAVIRUS community spread, schools, districts, administrators, and teachers are struggling with curriculum continuity to accommodate virtual instruction. Colleges are closed with uncertainty surrounding graduation, classes, and a return date. Conferences are cancelled. Students are frustrated. Parents are overwhelmed. With a minimum two week isolation period in effect, aspiring educators missing out on internships and classroom-related experiences feel cheated, However, now is the time to showcase initiative and dedication to the education profession. If the education-related conference you were attending or presenting at was cancelled, this is your chance to receive the professional development you missed out on.

    1. Sign in on a special link sent in the chat to show LIVE attendance.

    2. Keep microphones muted unless prompted by the presenter(s).

    3. Feel free to use the chat box during the workshop presentation. Our guest speakers love seeing your engagement!

    4. There will be a Q&A session at the close – a chance for you to jump on the mic, discuss, and ask the presenter(s) questions.

    5. A comprehensive sheet of resources on the workshop topic is shared in the chat box and prizes are drawn at the closing of the session.

    6. Attendees will receive the workshop recording and a personalized certificate of achievement 3-5 days after each workshop.

Attendees introduce themselves in the chat: NAME, MAJOR, STATE, –ANSWER TO A FUN QUESTION FROM PRESENTER(S)–, WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN FROM THIS WORKSHOP?

Presenters introduce themselves and the agenda – what strategies, resources, and advice will be explored. They cover the relevance of the topic and present their workshop with engagement from the chat box.

Presenters end with contact information and open for a Q&A session.

A facilitator sends the resource sheet with links and the PowerPoint.

Prizes are drawn using names from the sign-in link.
