Deputy Speaker of the Senate
The Deputy Speaker of the Senate's duty is to take over the duties of the Speaker when they are unable to.
§1. In the event that the Speaker of the Senate resigns, is absent for forty-eight (48) hours or otherwise unable or unwilling to complete their duties the Deputy Speaker of the Senate will assume the office of Speaker of the Senate.
§2. In the event that a Speaker of the Senate has no Deputy Speaker of the Senate they must appoint one within 24 hours of being without one.
§2.1. If the Speaker of the Senate does not appoint a Deputy Speaker of the Senate the Vice President will be responsible for doing so.
§2.2. This appointment must be approved by a simple majority in the Senate.
