Tests conducted on SCPs must be ethical and use the Foundation's resources appropriately.
This means that the inappropriate usage of SCPs for personal benefit or to harm them is strictly prohibited.
It is the sole responsibility of the test host, staff, and research command to ensure the proper testing regulations are followed.
Test supervisors are subject to any punishment for violations performed by researchers that they are actively supervising.
Before conducting a test, the following questions should be answered:
Will this cause harm to the SCP?
Will the SCP become angered or easily breach as a result of this?
Is this a direct threat to the Foundation and safety of personnel?
If any of the above questions are true, the test should not occur unless an O5 Councilor or Ethics Committee representative has approved the test.
Only specific personnel are allowed to spectate certain tests, this is an effort to maintain confidentiality and encourage the advancement through the Foundation.
The standard spectator limit for tests is four, unless specified otherwise in the respective SCP's database page.
Security Level 4 personnel, Research and Development personnel, and O5 Councilors do not count towards the spectator limit.
Below is a guide to the spectating restrictions placed on personnel:
Security Level 0 personnel are not allowed to spectate any tests unless specified otherwise by research command or an O5 Councilor.
Security Level 1 personnel may only spectate tests that are hosted in the Cleanrooms or Medium Containment Zone.
Security Level 2 personnel and higher may spectate all tests in the Cleanrooms, Medium Containment Zone, and Heavy Containment Zone.
There are two types of "special testing", Class A and Class B, both of these types of tests are restricted to specialized research personnel only and specific research command members.
Special tests are tests that have been deemed dangerous to the safety of Foundation personnel or have been classified for restricted research purposes. These types of tests are strictly conducted by members of the Advanced Sciences Division
Class A tests are tests that have been classified to prevent leakage and are restricted to specific personnel, these types of tests are classified "Restricted".
Class A tests are typically initial testing procedures and other special occasions.
Class B tests are tests that have been deemed to be extremely dangerous and may cause damage to personnel if publicized. These tests are classified "Confidential" and may only be accessed by certain personnel.
Class B tests are typically tests that are being conducted in an effort to discover vital information about SCP behavior that may be dangerous.
Special tests may only be spectated by Mobile Task Force Theta-14 personnel, Security Level 4 personnel, O5 Councilors, and Advanced Sciences Division personnel.
