Урок 7а. Страхи и фобии.

1.Ознакомьтесь с новой лексикой. Прочитайте вслух.

Scream - кричать

Freeze - замереть

Sweat - потеть

Shake like a leaf - дрожать как лист

Run away - убежать

Be scared to death – быть напуганным до смерти

Phobia - фобия

Heart beats faster – сердце бьётся быстрее

Nervous system – нервная система

Fight fears – перебороть страхи

2.Составьте и запишите в тетрадь 3 предложения по образцу упр.1 стр.106

3.Прослушай текст и заполни пропуски упр.3 стр.107

4. Выполни упр.4,5 стр.106 письменно в тетради.

5. Выпиши названия фобий, упомянутых в тексте, переведи на русский язык.

6. Домашняя работа: прочитай текст, выбери подходящие советы из списка (1-8), чтобы закончить текст. Выбранные советы переведи на русский.

Fear of public speaking is known as glossophobia and ranks in the top ten of people’s greatest fears. In today’s world it is extremely difficult to avoid public speaking. This common public speaking phobia can cause a lot of distress. Though when you are standing up in front of an audience, any audience, if you think about it quite logically, there is no threat to your life nor is there any risk to your safety. However, public speaking skills are vital in many people’s careers, so the sooner you learn how to overcome this fear, the quicker you’ll reduce your anxiety and phobia of public speaking.

Below are some top tips to help you shine and bring out your confidence when public speaking:

1.get to know your audience beforehand

2.look at the floor all the time

3.memorise your beginning as it is the most important part in public speaking

4.use filler words such as “uhm”, “and”, “so”, “you know” as much as possible

5.smile at your audience and say “good morning everyone”

6.stand upright and let your shoulders and arms relax

7.practise out loud

8.put your hands in your pockets
