The three heroes stand in a huddled bunch, backs against a ruined mast, as two githyanki pirates pose confidently, in full command of the wrecked deck. They aren't threatening, but they still enjoy the way the heroes' defensive stance.
Now, can't have y' wandering about, aimless and such, out there, now can we, Zastra?
Nay, Lysan, nay. Not when there might be **enemies** sneaking around, all sneaky-like!
But what exactly be the business o' y' three? Surely not the sneakin' kind, methinks.
Oh, no! Certainly not! Nope. We were, uh, lost a bit. And then we saw the Lambent Zenith, and we couldn't imagine what had happened--
Eh? Y' heard of the Lambent Zenith, have ye?
Yeah! It's all right here in my book...
(meekly indicating it)
We're in a BOOK!!! Lysan, they got us in a book!
In a flash, Zastra has snatched the book from Presto and confers with Lysan, who is equally intrigued. They flip through it with abandon, yet are clearly less-than-practiced.
Yeah. Uhm. Page 138?
D'ya think I can find my name? I think I could recognize my name if I see it!
Look! The Zenith! Yes, there it is, all right! And a right pretty picture, too.
"The Lambent Zenith famously cuts an elegant silhouette through the Astral Sea’s silver clouds. A beacon of hope for many, the Zenith's mission is tasked with guiding the lost and bringing peace to tumultuous worlds!"
Cor! Famous, he says!
Oh, sure! We're big fans. Love the Lambert Zenith. We really hoped to talk with Captain... I want to say...
Malayuri.
Exactly! Where is good ol' Malayuri, anyway?
Lysan and Zastra quickly sober. Lowering the book and their countenance, Zastra casts her eyes towards the other giant segments of the galleon, each hundreds of meters away.
Ach. Well, y' see...
Perhaps that's a tale best told by the first mate.
AND WHAT'S ALL THIS, THEN?!
The heroes turn, and the gilthyaki roll their eyes. A finely-dressed officer saunters from below deck, a massive giff— a boistrous individual with a head similar to that of a hippopotamus.
I SAY, strange fish you've managed to catch today, WHAT WHAT?
Relax, Ilren. They're harmless. Likely more castaways dashed upon the rock.
OH, HO HO! Lots of that going around, WHAT? A tale not unlike MY OWN, EH? Well, then, WELCOME ABOARD. Best to make yourselves COMFORTABLE, what with such ASTRAL PREDATORS wanderin' about! Have y' a vessel nearby, HMM?
Oh! Thank you. No, no vessel.
SAME SAME, to be sure. My skiff utterly destroyed. SHAME, really. Shame. Luckily our crew here is QUITE hospitable.
Excuse me. "Predators?"
So you're new to the crew here? And made the first mate already?
Lysan and Zastra can't help but scoff, toward which Ilren casts a quick eye before continuing.
OH, NO, NO, NO. I am merely an INTERIM leader, of course. First mate Figaro is still A BIT SICK, you know. But I am HAPPY TO SERVE as leader while he is suchly INDISPOSED. No worries at all, at all.
I see... OK, well, thanks for the hospitality. If we can help in any way, we're happy to pitch in.
BRILLIANT! Yes! One doesn't require food or drink here, but we might be able to SCROUNGE UP a few nibbles and such, for a sign of welcome, AS ONE DOES. Shall we RECONVENE to the galley in, say, ten minutes, or whatever is your measurable equivalent? LOVELY!
Well! How about that! Finally, some hospitality around here!
Ilren leaves as ostentatiously as he entered. Lysan and Zastra sigh heavily, returning to lazily prop themselves up around the deck.
Well, that was a thing, eh? Y' might as well make y'rselves at home.
Yeah. But don't worry. We're still up here, on guard for anything.
(she gives Eric a watchful eye, a thin veneer of threat behind it)
AnyTHING from anyONE.
Uh, why is she looking at me like that?
Come on, Eric. We might as well check out the place while we're here!
(to himself)
Gee! The Lambent Zenith! Neat!
Hmmm.
(following the boys, leaving the two githyanki pirates, who return to being distracted by Presto's book. Still, her "over-protective sense" is kicking in...)
Make an AWARNESS roll, but with a bane.
Diana's AWARENESS (10) with a bane, rolls a ⬙(16, 9) = Fail!
(something's up, but she can't quite put her finger on it)

I guess this is one of those "role play heavy" episodes.
