Monday, March 16: Giant Panda Bear Day (we will watch live footage from Smithsonian national zoo of their panda bears and learn all about them. Click here to watch!)
Tuesday, March 17: St. Patrick’s Day (Do not forget to wear green!)
Thursday, March 19: Spring begins
Monday, March 21: World Poetry Day (we will explore poems and try creating our own!)
Sunday, March 22: World Water Day (We will be discussing how to purify water, why it is so important, and what we can do to help the environment)
Wednesday, March 25: Tolkien Reading Day (I will bring in my personal collection of the JRR. Tolkien books for the class to enjoy)
Monday, March 30: National Take a Walk in the Park Day (the class will be taking a fieldtrip to the beautiful Craighead forest park for a nature walk and a picnic)
Tuesday, March 31: National Crayon Day
Homework: Students are required to compose a poem and bring it to class ready to present on world poetry day, Monday, March 21st. poem can be anywhere from 3 to 10 lines and should be about something meaningful or that the student finds interesting. The poems will be presented to class after completed so be ready to present!
