The purpose of this lesson is to for you to share your knowledge of different experiences along Route 66. Each of you either individually or in a group will write a multiple, two or three voice poem. These poems communicate different experiences and perspectives. Your poem will draw upon your previous work examining African American experiences, and Native American perspectives as compared to the Anglo or white perspective along Route 66. We call the Anglo perspective the dominant narrative -- the story that is typically told and remembered about Route 66.
