Adopting Chennai High School - Kamaraj Avenue 

We set up a terrace garden at the Chennai High School, Adyar and the Govt. Hobart School, Royapetta with CRC as part of the Urban Thottam project. Close to 12 kgs of various vegetables was harvested over 6 months. Helped set up some vegetables plants at the Chennai Primary School, Adyar.

The project started in September 2022 and has expanded and sustained beautifully with composting, and the regular vegetable harvest going into the school’s noon meal scheme.

The well rings set up in 2022 have yielded great harvests amidst several challenges. The compost from the well rings feed into the terrace garden. The well rings would soon be replaced by a bio gas set up which will ensure that all wet waste is processed in situ. 

Visit by GCC officials in 2023 motivated school personnel to strive more and understand the essence of the project.
