The Traffic Command Team is divided into two tramlines containing one Lieutenant, each one with their own specific areas of responsibility and duties to attend to. We also employ at least two Staff Sergeants to assist our Lieutenants with their specific duties as well as carry out a broader set of command duties and manage day to day operations.
The Head of Traffic is responsible for overseeing all day to day operations as well as managing the command team. Specific duties are:
Managing observation report quantity
Enforcing performance and activity standards for the command team
Defining a continuous roadmap for the Road Traffic Unit's constant development
Conducting recruitment for Traffic Command
Responsible for the initial appointment and training of Traffic Officers through effective management of our recruitment process.
Responsible for the continued development of Traffic Officers through effective management of our probation and training procedures.
Traffic Command in its entirety will be responsible for the following areas:
Ensuring RTU applications are marked properly and in good time
Running practical recruitment stages
Running campaigns
Running training sessions
Monitoring observation report quality
Enacting internal disciplinary proceedings
Marking operation services applications
Conducting quality control patrols
Maintaining RTU policies
Our Traffic Trainers also play a vital role in running the Road Traffic Unit. They assist the command team with:
Employee welfare
Running training sessions
Marking Road Traffic Officer applications
Monitoring probationary Road Traffic Officers
Representing and giving presence for the Road Traffic Unit on duty
Helping make fundamental decisions for the future of the Road Traffic Unit
We also appoint at least one Traffic Training Supervisor. These are experienced Traffic Trainers who are trained to run practical assessments without Traffic Command and have additional responsibilities in running Traffic Recruitment.
