Internal Affairs Complaints are a means of filing a complaint against an officer for suspected misconduct within their duties. These complaints are not always specific to certain divisions an officer is a part of, however as Road Traffic Officer, you are expected to always conduct yourself to the highest standard. If an Internal Affairs complaint is filed against a Road Traffic Officer and it is clear that they have violated any PLPD policies or procedures they could face further internal disciplinary action.
The Road Traffic Command reserves the right to discipline any Road Traffic Officer following an Internal Affairs complaint or evidence of misconduct through our Internal Disciplinary procedure. Officers will typically be awarded a chance to justify their actions before internal action is taken, however, this may be disregarded upon unanimous decision by the Traffic Command Team or at the discretion of the Head of Traffic.

All Road Traffic Trainers can be subject to the normal disciplinary action for a Road Traffic Officer, however they can also be subject to disciplinary action through their administrative roles. If a Road Traffic Trainer is deemed not to be performing at the correct standard, they will also be subject to Internal Disciplinary under our Traffic Trainer Policy. Traffic Command reserves the right to remove any Road Traffic Trainer from their role if they are not performing to the standard required of them.
