During this final week, I was able to create a solid demo/prototype that I am very happy with. I implemented some feedback from my second and third playtests, such as adding a visual cue when cards take damage, and changing when minor arcana generate energy to make the gameplay a little less tedious. I think changing when the energy is generated alone has improved the overall game loop. It doesn't change my plan for the game very much, but it does help the player get to the actual meat of the game much quicker.
Overall, I am happy with how this game is in its current state. Even though I will no longer be working on this project for class, this is definitely a project I plan on continuing in the future outside of school. Everything I have done in this class has helped me create a strong foundation for the game, and the playtests and feedback from classmates has helped me hone in on my vision. I most likely won't get the chance to work on this project again until I graduate in June, but when I do, I'd like to make it a complete demo. I'd also really like to do an art/ui overhaul and re-design the cards, but since there are so many tarot cards, that is something that likely would not be completed for awhile.Â
