RadhaRang sponsored Bhajan Competition was held at Devgad under the guidance of Santosh walawalkar. Students from nine schools participated in this competition
RadhaRang sponsored annual sports event was held at Nerur, Sindhudurg district, under the guidance of Deepak Samant. 90 students from 10 schools paricipated enthusisastically in this tournamnet. The Sharada Cup and the Prabhakar Cup both were won by Madhyachi Wadi High School.
This unique project was started by Vetore High School under the guidance of Swati Walawalkar strongly backed by RadhaRang Foundation. The students proudly grew a great crop of turmeric.
As part of practical training, students of Madhyachi Wadi High School constructed a staircsar with roof for their school. This was an innovative way of teaching skills of craftsmanship by the school
Jeevana Sathi Geeta, a series of four lectures, was delivered by Advocate Devdatta Parulekar at Vetire High School. In his lectures Devdatta Parulekar explained the teachings of Shri Bhagvatgeeta in a simplfied way and also explained how they could be encorporated in day to day life to make it more enriching and fulfilling. The sudents, teachers and parents took advantage of this great opoortunity
The Poultry Project was initiated last year by Deepak Samanton an experimental basis. Having gained the necessary experience, Deepak Samant took the project to the next level this year by distributing chickensin two schools - Madhyachi Wadi High School and Vetore High School. Nearly 500 birds were given to the students. RadhaRang Foundation and Bhagirath Pratishthan participated wholeheartedly in this project along with the schools
Siddhi Vasudev Madye from Annasaheb Desai Vidhyamandir Parule secured 97.40 % marks in SSC Exam held in March 2019. She is topper in Vengurla Taluka. She comes from a poor family. Her father Mr. Vasudev Madye works as an agriculture laborer on daily wages. She is a very intelligent and hard working student and despite all the hardships and without the help of any coaching class she achieved this grand success. She had obtained 2nd rank in Maths/Science competition held by RRF. She has also received prize for best student from her school.
Rishi Desai, from South Carolina, USA, visited Madhyachi wadi and successfully installed solar panels which will deliver electricity to the school. Rishi, a clever, smart dedicated young man is son of Mr. Tushar Desai and grand son of Mrs. Kunda & Mr. Sharad Desai
The pilot project for seed distribution to marginal farmers was kick started this year under the guidance of Mr. Deepak Samant, Principal Mrs. Swati Walavalkar and Mrs. Dipti Prabhu. These marginal farmers d not own land and get the farm land on rent from farm owners. Four well deserving farmers farmers from Sindhudurg region, Yashwant Gawde, Mahadev Parab, Pavin Gawde and Swapnil Gawde, received financial help and were given high quality seeds and fertilizers before the beginning of monsoon. They cultivated cucumbers, peppers, bitter gourds, green peas and local greens this year. RadhaRang Foundation will continue this aid to the farmers in the coming years if this pilot project proves to be a success.
Drs. Ashok and Sharada Sarnaik actively participated in the following events during their weeklong visit:
1. Annual Meeting of RRF Members: The meeting was held at Barrister Nath Pai Sevangan, Malvan and was attended by Dr. Ashok Sarnaik, Dr. Sharada Sarnaik, Aruna Samant, Swati Walawalkar, Santosh Walawalkar, Vijay Patkar, Ravindra Walawalkar, Mr. Talgaonkar, Laxmikant Khobarekar, Deepak Samant, Sanjay Waradkar, Ravindra Sarnaik, Amey Desai, Mangalatai Parulekar and Devdatt Parulekar.
2. Visit to Vetore High School: The students of the school presented a colorful PT display and various sports activities. A Sanmaan Patra was presented to Drs. Ashok and Sharada during this event for their valuable contributions for the welfare of the students in the region.
3. Annual Sports Event at Madhyachi Wadi High School: On January 29th Mr.Deepak Samant organized the annual RRF annual sports tournament on a grand scale at Madhya Chi Wadi High School. Ten schools and eighty eight athletes participated in this event. Sports events were Long Jump, Shot-put, Discuss throw, Javelin throw, 100 mts and 400mts running. Breakfast and lunch was served to all the athletes, teachers and referees. Prizes were given to the winners. Prabhakar and Sharada Trophies were handed over to best team in girls and boys group. Dr. Sharada Sarnaik, who is an accomplished athlete herself, having won numerous medals in Senior Olympics in USA, inaugurated the tournament with a shot-put throw. It went an impressive distance. 4. Inauguration of Raghunath Pandurang Sarnaik Technology Extension at Madyachiwadi High School.
5. Computerization of Library at Sevangan, Malvan
RRF founder member Dr. Debashish Bhattacharya of Detroit, US, along with his long time friend former Indian cricketer Mr. Karsan Ghavri, visited Vetore High School and Madyachiwadi on January 21st. They inspected the various activities and facilities provided at the school. Dr Bhattacharya also gave a generous donation of Rs. 50,000/- to RadhaRang Foundation for further development of schools in the area.
The New year 2019 started with a flurry of activities. On January 20, 2019 RRF's annual Mathematics and Science Scholarship Exam for 9th graders was conducted at Gulabtai Dinanath Naik High School, Vetore. Six schools and thirty students participated in the exams. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Vetore High School. The chief guests for the ceremony were RRF founder member Dr. Debashish Bhattacharya of Detroit, US, former Indian cricketer Mr. Karsan Ghavri, Dr. Rane from Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai. The prize winning scholars are:
