FINANCIAL AID FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED STUDENTS

Financial Aid given to students on behalf of RadhaRang Foundation on August 16th 2014, in the presence of Mr. Sudhir Avasare of Seattle, USA. to eleven students (four from Achre, four from Malvan/Malgaon, two from Khanoli and one student from Tendoli). Students were identified by the Principals of respective schools in Achara and Malgaon and the funds were distributed to these students at a function at Sevangan, Malwan. These students were given a sum Rs. 2000/- each towards their education. Dr Dighe, Mr. Suresh Thakur and Babu Kaka Avasare were present at the function.

SANE GURUJI KATHAMALA

RadhaRang Foundation partnered in 'Story-Telling' competition organized by Sane Guruji Kathamala. This is the 3rd year of our association. The competition is held in Achra near Malvan for the school students of the district.

SPONSORING OF COLLEGE EDUCATION OF A DESERVING STUDENT

This was a new initiative from this year. As pointed out by Ms. Shubhangi Naik from Khanoli, it was observed that many deserving students are unable to pursue college education because of poor financial condition of the parents. This year a bright girl from Khanoli was selected. RadhRang Foundation gave financial aid to this student and will continue to do so every year till she completes graduation. The financial aid consists of Rs 10,000/- that will take care of her college fees, books and travelling expences from Khanoli to Kudal (college) for one year.

SCHOLARSHIP EXAM TUTORING

This activity is organized by Teachers Association of Sindhudurg District to create awareness among the local students and prepare them for the Maharashtra State Scholarship exam. This is a free program for the students. All expense of this program is financed by RadhaRang Foundation. This is the second year of the program. First year results of this program were encouraging. Thirty two students from Malvan Panchakroshi received Govt. Scholarships. This year too scholarship practice exam was conducted. The exam was conducted by a team of teachers led by Mr. Vilas Sarnaik. The scholarship exam is conducted by Govt. of Maharashtra every year in May for class IV and class VII and results are declared in June.

OTHER ACTIVITIES OF 2014

MOBILE SCIENCE LABORATORY

A well equipped mobile science laboratory was made available to help the students from Std V to Std X to conduct various science experiments which was not previously possible in their schools. This project was in continuation with a same project last year.

'MEDICAL BOX' PROJECT

Medical Boxes were made available in ten remote villages where doctors or medical facilities are not available .The medical boxes contain basic first aid medicines and are under the control of a trained person in each village. This helps the people in these villages to get emergency medical aid till a doctor is arranged from nearby towns.

SPONSORSHIP OF ONE STUDENT AT THE TEMBE SWAMI HOSTEL

RadhaRang Foundation has sponsored the expenses of one student at the Tembe Swami Hostel, Mangaon, which provides accommodation to very poor students from remote villages in Sindhudurg District, free of cost so that they can complete their education. At present 27 students are availing this facility.

Other than all the above activities RadhaRang Foundation has also helped with the following:

Poor students from nearby villages will be brought together from at Shiv Spoorthy Mandal, Hadi, between 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm everyday and helped with the school homework. Teachers help them overcome difficulties and make them aware of the importance of Nation Pride.

One year of anti virus sponsored to the computer lab of a primary school.
