Welcome to the Sport Scholars page

Lockdown is tough ...

Lockdown presents a number of challenges and this in no different for athletes. The lack of facilitates and competitive sport can leave you lacking motivation and be demoralising. You are recognised at Queen's most promising athletes and as such, there will be additional support to ensure that you can stay fit, healthy and continue your sporting development.

Work hard ...

There are a wealth of resources on this site and it will be partly your responsibility to engage with the activities. Below you will find a suggested timetable to follow to ensure that you are giving yourself the best opportunity to continue your sporting progression. Remember to push yourself, the more you put in, the more you get out and the better prepared you will be once sport resumes.

What do you need to do?

  • Find time for session each day, but also include one-two rest days. You may find it helpful to keep a diary for your training, so that you can plan your weekly sessions.

  • Sign up to the relevant Co-curricular sessions. Your coaches will be expecting you.

  • Log your training using the form below. This will be monitored by Mr Walter and the Sport team.

  • Meet Mr Walter or Mrs Halls once per week. This will be arranged via the Google Classroom.

Live Co-curricular sessions

You should have signed up to the Co-curricular sessions which are relevant to you. This will give you access to a dedicated coach who will be able to run through an interactive session and ensure that you are still able to continue your athletic development. It is also an opportunity for your coach to track your progress and make sure you are in a good position to resume competitive action once sport and fixtures start (hopefully!).
