Abstract
One of the problems of working with many-body quantum systems is the dimension of the Hilbert space. For example, a quantum system formed by N qubits has a Hilbert space of dimension 2ˆN. On the other hand, in areas such as quantum computing and quantum information it is usual to perform quantum operations on one or a small group of qubits. So it is of utmost importance to optimize the operations in order to reduce computational resources, RAM and execution times. Here we will present some strategies to deal with high-dimensional quantum systems. We will briefly discuss matrix product parallelization; sparse matrix representation and algebra; optimization of operations on a qubit, etc.
