Gustav Klimt’s Tree of Life - Kindness and Friendship
Learning Intention: Students will explore Gustav Klimt’s "Tree of Life" and use it as inspiration to create their own "Tree of Kindness and Friendship," emphasising positive relationships and values. They will explore techniques using metallic paints, oil pastels, and collage materials.
Key Learning Areas: - Exploring the theme "Reading is Magic" through the works of favourite Australian authors and illustrators. - Creating magical wand sculptures, inspired by the fantastic world of literature.
Belonging and Community Values Influenced by the picture book, "The Very Blue Thingamajig".
Learning objective: Students explored the concepts of belonging and community values through the lens of visual art, influenced by the picture book, "The Very Blue Thingamajig,", by Narelle Oliver, which tells a story about finding one's place in a community, celebrating our individuality and being proud of our differences. Students engaged in various art activities that encourage self-expression, collaboration, and an understanding of the importance of belonging and community values.Â
