"A is for Australian Reefs: A Factastic Tour", by Frane Lessac

Students created a mixed-media artwork inspired by Australian reefs, using elements from the book "A is for Australian Reefs, a fantastic tour" by Frane Lessac, to encourage people to save our reefs and think of sustainable ways of living, promoting advocacy for climate change and the conservation of our planet.
Using 'Bev and Kev' by Mandy Foot and Katrina Germain as inspiration, students were asked to create their own visual narratives. They were encouraged to think about the characters, setting and emotion they wanted to covey. Bev and Kev is a story about not fitting in, perseverance, friendship and finally making peace with yourself, your friends and your place. A perfect picture book with lovely empathy between Bev and Kev.
