"The Very Blue Thingamajig" - RK
Students explored the concepts of belonging and community values through the lens of visual art. This unit was influenced by the picture book, "The Very Blue Thingamajig,", by Narelle Oliver, which tells a story about finding one's place in a community, celebrating our individuality and being proud of our differences.
The students explored illustration with Bev and Kev by Katrina Germain as inspiration. It is a story about not fitting in, perseverance, friendship and finally making peace with yourself, your friends and your place. A perfect picture book with lovely empathy between Bev and Kev.
