About Your Professor
Dedicated and accomplished Child Development Professor with a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments. I was born and raised in Compton, CA, and has over 16 years in the field, working as a preschool teacher, school-age teacher, mental health specialist, anti-racism coach, and professor. I specialized in antiracist pedagogy, I am an author of an Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook, and pioneer of the Trauma-Informed Care specialization program at Cerro Coso Community College. I am committed to shaping future generations through innovative teaching methods and compassionate educational practices.
I've been married for 8 years, and have 4 beautiful children, a dog, and so many aquatic fish that I can't keep count. I am also a farmer, and owner of the Ridgecrest Community Garden. I am big on organizational leadership and social change. I hope to inspire you to be your greatest self. You are already great!
