B.     Relationship between Law, Culture, and Religion  

C.     East v. West: The issue of individual v. society

D.    The concepts of right, wrong, morality, sin, virtue, and crime.

E.     Identifying the influence of culture on law

F.      The eternal conflicts of positive laws and customs, and the middle path 

G.     The need to look at the jurisprudential paradigm of specific Acts and to seek parallels in other laws. 

 

Module 2: Law in Literature

A.    Literature as a reflection of society and culture

B.     Relation of Law with poetry, drama, and other literary genres, i.e. Law as Literature, and Literature as Law

 

Module 3: Protecting Diversity

A.    Personal law, family, and community

B.     Minorities: linguistic, and religious

C.     Caste, creed, and colour

D.    Positive discrimination, and reservation

 

Module 4: Protecting Culture

A.    Freedom of speech and censorship, book banning, and contempt of court laws

B.     Protection of cultural goods (music, paintings, literary works, cinema, and television)

C.     Protection of monuments

D.    Patents and geographical indications
