A Brief History: on 31 May 2019 Prasannanshu created a group on WhatsApp, its original name was ‘English Teachers LLC’ (English Teachers who Teach Literature, Language, and Communication Skills). On 1 June 2019 he shared the following in the group: English teachers who teach Literature, Language, Communication Skills in professional courses are almost an unidentified niche across the globe, today. The contribution of these teachers cannot be undermined. We should come together and invigorate the field by collaborations, collective action, and academic contributions in the form of publications and academic events.
After more than a year of its existence, on 10 September 2020 this group was renamed as ' English Teachers teaching Literature, Language, Linguistics, Communication Skills, etc. (ET3LC)'. This group constantly discusses academic and other matters of common interest. On 02 May 2020 this group had a panel discussion, cum paper discussion session on Jokes as an Underrated Literary Genre: A Literary-Linguistic Analysis', in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, J&K.
Members: We are a small professional group of around 120 members. It is a reasonably impressive number, given the high standards expected of the members of this groups. There is a lot of flexibility, and there are no hard or fast rules for admission, still if not all, almost all members are postgraduates, and there is a predominance of doctorates and research degree holders. Professionally, our members range from Professors, and Directors to Research Scholars, and students from across the world.
Status: It is not an official forum -- we can proudly say, 'there is nothing official about it' :-), and it is free (There is no membership fee). At the same time, it is a fraternity that means business.
