Swan River Windmill

This windmill can be seen from across the bay on Lower County Road in Dennisport. We had lunch at Swan River Seafood Restaurant. This windmill wasn't on any of my lists so we went investigating. Indeed it is a private residence and I did not want to disturb them so I settled for a photograph from a distance. Due to the windmill's vicinity to the coast and its immediate location on Swan River I believe this to be an authentic windmill and not one that someone built as a replica. My claim can be substantiated by the presence of the wind shaft and the partial mast. The house has been built around the windmill. The view of this windmill is best from Lower County Road across the Swan River. It really is a spectacular scene. Call Swan River Seafood Restaurant (508) 394-4466 for their hours and enjoy great seafood and a fabulous view. You will not be disappointed.

Swan River Windmill is not open to the public. Please do not disturb private residents.
Directions: From Dennisport, travel east on Lower County Road and in less than one mile you will find the best view of the windmill.
