Furthermore, RTU are equipped with highly accurate speed cameras that monitor travelling vehicles' speeds and extra road equipment to direct traffic when necessary. RTU are also in charge of monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic in crime scenes to ensure citizen and officer safety when dealing with delicate situations.
The Dispatcher unit’s primary task is to ensure that current Officers, Medics and Firefighters who are on-duty are organised and informed of emergency calls and general information. Emergency calls from the 911 app are sent through to Dispatch first, who will then assign the call to any relevant unit, known as ‘Callsigns’ (Eg. Alpha 1). Dispatchers can view CCTV cameras, a full-view of the city’s map and precise locations of each unit.
