The popularity of protein has skyrocketed, with influencers across social media sharing and promoting protein-filled snacks and recipes. Popular for its contribution to weight loss and muscle gain, sales in protein products have significantly increased since the trend began. A number of food brands have been overflowing the market with protein products, such as bars, cookies, powders, shakes, and yogurts. Although a few months late, Starbucks has hopped on the protein bandwagon by introducing a number of new products to their drink menu.
As of September, Starbucks now offers a Protein Cold Foam, a new way for customers to add protein to their favorite cold beverages. This new topping is available in many different flavors - vanilla, sugar-free vanilla, banana, chocolate, brown sugar, salted caramel, and plain, along with seasonal options like pumpkin and pecan. Protein cold foam is a permanent addition to the Starbucks menu, and offers around 15g of protein in any grande sized drink. The cold foam is available through a customized order, and can be added to any cold beverage that contains milk.
