In the new movie Wicked: For Good, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo return to Oz to reprise their roles as Glinda and Elphaba. Last year, Wicked was released in theaters, and on November 20, 2025 its sequel struck the big screen. The two movies are adaptations of the famous Broadway musical, with the first movie recreating the first act of the show, and Wicked: For Good being the second act, where we see overlaps from the classic 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz.

The movie depicts the state of Oz after Elphaba’s (Cynthia Erivo) departure at the end of Wicked, with the people of Oz viewing her as the Wicked Witch of the West, while the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum), Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) lead Oz. We follow the miss-matched group of friends we saw form in the first movie, Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), Nessarose (Marissa Bode), and Boq (Ethan Slater) on their journeys, and how they all link together and lead to the final end of the story.
This movie is full of surprises, sending the audience through many emotions like excitement, happiness, sadness, fear, love, and anger. The movie certainly is a wild ride, and the fantastic music, acting, vocals, and storyline make it so much better. The theater was filled with viewers of all ages, as this movie is a source of entertainment for everyone. There were certainly many tears by the end of the film. All in all, Wicked: For Good is a highly enjoyable film, and I would highly recommend you see it.
