Here are some recent opportunities to become involved in your community!
1) Young Achievers
Young Achievers (YA) is a group of high school students that will serve as mentors to Nyack Middle School students. These students are selected by Nyack Middle School. We will go once a week to tutor, on Wednesdays from three to four, and high school mentors will receive community service hours for their work. High school mentors must have an accumulated GPA of 85% (weighted). You do not need to tutor any topic you do not want to.
2) Clarkstown for Climate
A youth-led initiative to combat climate change. They are currently cleaning up public spaces - parks, lakes, and highways - around the county. They also hope to bring about policy change regarding the efforts to limit climate change damage. Their goal is to educate all people on becoming environmentally conscious.

3) Mock Trial
If you are interested in law, this is the perfect team for you. Up until December, the team works towards an inter-team case. Then the team versus other schools in the country during March. Through engaging in trial simulations in competition with teams from other institutions, students develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, as well as a knowledge of legal practices and procedures. Currently, the team is looking for mock-witnesses.
