Hello Redhawks and welcome to Spring! After an exhausting year, things are finally starting to look up around here; more of us are getting vaccinated every day, sports games are underway, and school is opening up full-time again. Starting April 19th, students can come into school every day instead of alternating in hybrid mode, and the block schedule will be back to normal. This means the good old-fashioned A, B, C, D, E day schedule is making a comeback. And seniors… you have a prom! June 10th to be exact at the Tappan Zee Manor. Long-awaited graduation is set for June 24th, with more information regarding COVID protocols to come.
Although everyone is still adapting every day, extracurriculars are up and running. Fall 2 Sports from football, to cheer, to volleyball, to girls’ swim are competing - and winning! The drama club is in full (socially-distanced) swing for this year’s musical, Urinetown, a comedy that satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, and more. It will be filmed on May 21st, so make sure to stream!
With only nine weeks left in the school year, let’s all try our best to stay happy and healthy. It’s undoubtedly been a mentally and physically draining time, with everything we may have taken for granted stripped away, but we can only go up from here. Learn to appreciate all the little things you may be missing, enjoy spending time outdoors as the weather warms up, and be present in the activities you care about and with those you love. The end of this year will go by in a flash, so enjoy it while it’s here, and go Redhawks!
