Though East Ocean Seafood may not look like much from the outside, once you enter the restaurant the entire personality changes.
The renowned restaurant has an energetic feel, that is contagious to any who enter. This can be felt from both the bustling of the busy servers as well as the exuberant attitudes of many pleased customers. Before you are even shown to your table, it is clear that the food must be good since almost every table is filled. This isn't even during busy hours, as 11:30am on a thursday is rarely a popular time to go out to eat. Nevertheless, after a very short wait you are ushered to your table, and instantly approached by different servers questioning what foods you want to eat.
No matter what you choose to order there is no going wrong. The rice noodles are filled with flavorful shrimp, and though they may not look like much upon first glance after your first bite everything will change. One dish that at first glance I was rather hesitant to try was the chicken feet, though I was almost immediately proven wrong. The flavorful dish is spiced to perfection leaving you with the urge to claim the whole plate for yourself. Additionally, a must have if you ever visit is the pineapple bun. This dessert is the perfect amount amount of sweet so that it does not too heavily contrast the main course, but enhances the earlier flavors.
Though there is very little to complain about I found one minor problem with East Ocean Seafood. Due to the cramped nature of the restaurant layout it was rather difficult to use my chopsticks, as I am part of the minority group referred to as leftys. Therefore, when I would pick up food with my chopsticks, I would accidentally hit arms with someone and drop my food.
All in all it was a positive experience and definitely somewhere I would go again.
