Food heaven on earth takes form in the Wheelhouse Diner. So I suggest you take note, because if you have ever enjoyed food this is the place for you.
From the second you first walk in the door the smell of happiness hits you as you immediately make eye contact with a mouthwatering plate of pancakes. This is all it takes and you scurry over to the nearest booth and prepare yourself for your server to come over and ask what you would like to eat. This does not take long and within minutes your order is taken. As you eagerly anticipate the arrival of your pancakes you look around the diner and take in the very retro personality that the diner gives off.
Through the doorway leading into the kitchen you are able to see the chef expertly flipping the fluffy over sized pancakes and question if they are for you. As luck would have it, they are, because the next thing you see is the chef plate your order and your waitress walk over to you.
Your first bite is amazing as you savor the expertly cooked pancakes that are so good that they don't even need syrup. They are fluffy and light while also the perfect amount of sweet. This is all it takes and the rest of your meal goes by in a blur and the next thing you know your plate is empty.
The Wheelhouse Diner is a lesser known staple for the residents of Quincy. It not only offers excellent service and food but for many others like me it is a reminder of our childhood. I personally have been going there as long as I can remember and the food has only gotten better throughout the years.
The atmosphere is extremely family friendly and for those who can still get away with ordering from the kids menu you can order your pancakes to come as a mickey mouse complete with a whipped cream smile.
The Wheelhouse is a must for food lovers and always my first recommendation when someone asks the best places to eat.
