A person who perfectly embodies the perfect teacher; Mrs. Jorgenson is one of the many faculty members of North Quincy High School that has made many students feel welcomed, and more importantly, safe. As my high school years went by, I encountered many different teachers, whom I’ve grown to respect and admire. Nevertheless, Mrs. Jorgenson will always have a special place in my heart, and will remain one of my favorite teachers of all time.
Obviously, when in high school, many of us find ourselves strongly disliking a teacher and their teaching methods. We aren’t subjected to like every teacher, but in all honesty, I have never heard a student talk poorly of Mrs. Jorgenson.
When brought up in conversations, Mrs. Jorgenson is praised for her work, not only as a teacher, but as a person. Students have told me in the past that they are able to cry in Mrs. Jorgenson’s class without being penalized for it. They feel comfortable and safe because of her nurturing aura, and she does not stand idly by and watch them cry, she talks it out with them, almost as if she’s a counselor. Mrs. Jorgenson genuinely cares for her students’ well being, and ensures that they all feel content in her classroom at all times.
Mrs. Jorgenson is personally one of my top favorite teachers for countless reasons. Her class was extremely difficult due to the AP Preparations; the normal human reaction would be to strongly dislike a class and teacher like this; however, it was one of my favorite classes my junior year. The atmosphere of the class was so peaceful, and I was never once stressed from the class.
As time in her class passed, Mrs. Jorgenson continued to respect and encourage me as the person I grew into today. She constantly urged me to speak for myself, even though it is a scary thing to do. Without her, I wouldn’t be able to get this huge weight off my chest, and I truly think my life would be much different without her. Mrs. Jorgenson gave me the chance to open up about something very personal to me, and it became one of my strongest, most influential stories I’ve ever written in class because it was me.
Thank you Mrs. Jorgenson for educating your class, and giving them room to grow and learn as people. Thank you Mrs. Jorgenson for being such an important confidant to so many students at North Quincy High. Thank you Mrs. Jorgenson, for being such a positive and important influence in my life, I will always value and admire you both as a teacher and person.
