As a so called moaner by the so called happy clappers,. I urge that the divided fan base stop this name calling and call people by what they are. Swindon Town Fans.
We all want the same thing, some are happy with the way that the club is run, some aren't and it's a matter of opinion. Just because you don't like someone's opinion, name calling is the lowest form of a person. I should know, because I used to do it myself. I have "changed my fucking mindset" and I am looking for a common ground to cut the divide. I know what that common ground is, it's the love for the club that we all support.
Whether you like me or not, this is not about me and it's it not about you, it's about Swindon Town Football Club.
We all must start coming together as one fan base or nothing will change. We have seen poor ownership so many times, that you would have thought that we would all see the signs. this needs to be the start of the closing of the divide and make the future at Swindon Town Football Club a happier and more enjoyable place for all.
Whilst at the end of last season, I was calling for a protest and even took a lot of my own time to try to organise on, at this moment in time, I do not believe that a protest will have the effect of removing the hierarchy from the club and this is why:
Clem Morfuni took control of Swindon Town Football Club after the court case due to pre-emption rights. The issue that we have at the club at the moment is that there are now 2 other shareholders who have pre-emption rights. Hollie Kiely (Chris Kiely really) and Bethany Parladorio (Eddie Parladorio really). both Chris and Eddie are in the little circle of trust within the hierarchy at the club. If Clem is ousted out by supporters voices, then it will just be transferred to Hollie Kiely through pre-emption rights with Bethany Parladorio retaining hers. Nothing will change, there will be the same people running the show (albeit very poorly) just a different name of significant shareholder. Then we remove Hollie Kiely and pre-emption rights goes through to Bethany Parladorio, someone else gets 5% shares in the club and the process carries on again. It will be just a revolving door of pre-emption rights.
There is only 2 ways that I can see, where the current hierarchy have no involvement in the club whatsoever. They are:
Someone buys all 100% of Swindon Town Football Club (Morfuni's 78% share, Kiely's 17% share and Parladorio's 5% share). That is probably not going to be cheap and possibly will not happen.
The only other option that I can see is for the fans to force them out at source. That means boycotting giving any money to the club in any way, shape or form. That will be difficult for some and I appreciate that is not always going to be the choice that everyone can make. Now, there is a chance that by boycotting, 3 things can happen.
a. Morfuni puts the club up for sale including the shares held by Kiely and Parladorio
b. Morfuni puts the club into Administration, this would allow any potential purchaser to buy the club at a lower price, it could also be a blocker for potential purchasers which would mean that c could be a reality.
c. The club is liquidated after the Administration process as no suitable purchaser was found or came forward.
There are risks as there are in everyday life and business, it's whether fans are willing to stick together to fight for the club that we all love and that far out ways the risk.
After all Actions Speak Louder Than Words.
